News Flash: Anibal Sanchez Not Worst Pitcher Ever

W00T!

Go Marlins. I love this team. It's like the Mariners, only better. And good. I wish I were a Marlins fan.

This is so freaking awesome. I love the Marlins.

Who'd'a'thunk.

I can't wait to see FLA: Your 2006 Series Champions

Now I just want the Dodgers to win a hell of a lot of games, and SD and PHI to lose to death.

If they'd just get some fans, now.

It's official
The Marlins totally rule.

The best part
is that Loria has no financial reason to break this team up if they win it all.

I retract my neutrality on the 2006 playoffs.   GO MARLINS.

It IS harder to throw a no-hitter than ever
Teams are deeper with hitting talent than ever before.  It used to be the 7-8-9 hitters of even the best teams were scrubs.  Now, many teams have loaded lineups and guys on the bench and in the minors who can hit well and only are not on the team because there's so much talent in front of them.  A pitcher has to get 27 tough outs, with the worst hitter still able to kill your mistakes.

Does anyone else
kind of wish that the Marlins weren't doing this well? Don't get me wrong, I like the team, but Loria doesn't deserve this at all.

yes
i wish they weren't doing this well, this early. In a year and a half or something, maybe, but it's frustrating to watch another team contend so easily while the Mariners fight and scrap to see .500.

Shouldn't matter
what the Marlins are doing this year is great for baseball and a tremendous story. Give some giant credit to the Marlins GM, give a huge boo to Jeffrey Loria, but I'd love to see the Fish make the playoffs.

On a side note, I don't blame the "fans" one bit for not bandwagoning over the team. What Loria has done removes them from any blame.

I agree
good points all around

Like Jeff Said Earlier...
We root for the M's in spite of their executive front office and invisible ownership (well, I actually like Bavasi, so he's exempt from that group, in spite of technically being part of it). If we can do this, then we can root for the Marlins.

I love M-Cab.  I love D-Train.  What Girardi has done with that club has to be considered remarkable.  Not unlike what Dan Rohn did with Tacoma last year.  It's not hard for me to root for the Marlins.

So long as they don't take down my Cardinals!

Free George Sherrill. And Dan Rohn.

I don't think we root for the Ms
"in spite of" the EFO and Ownership. The ownership has done a perfectly fine job with the team, and I give them tons of credit establishing the Ms as THE team for Japanese connections. Also, the current EFO, while sometimes being baseball dumb, has never really been baseball malicious like Loria has in numerous places.

I feel good for those guys
Because for them it was kind of a slap in the face when the year started.  "You're only playing because of a fire sale.  We don't expect you to do shit."  And here they are fighting for the NL Wildcard in September.

Screw Jeff Loria.  That team will probably move and maybe he'll sell them off or something, and whoever gets them will have a great, young team and an enthusiastic fanbase in their new home.
