I can't write anything about the game, because there's (supposedly) an imminent network server upgrade on the horizon that's going to take us down for a little while, and presumably by the time it comes back up I'll be asleep. Sorry about that. If you're annoyed, blame Athletics Nation, which has apparently gotten too big too fast for the current server setup (or something).
Anyway, I'll just save my thoughts on tonight's game for tomorrow's wrap-up. Felix and Jae Seo at 7:05pm PDT as the Mariners look to double their current win streak.

Game thoughts
Richie GIDP'd on a 3-0 pitch.
I'm no longer bad luck...but in 5 games at Safeco this season, I'm 1-4.
I love Jamie, but he's on his way out (don't think that's a surprise to anyone). Sporting a 7.29 ERA since the ASB.
Why was WFB playing today vs. a RHP? Meh, he went 1-3 and didn't do anything too embarrassing in center.

Corey Brock: ::SLURP SLURP SLURP::
Corey: Would you like a teabag, Mr. Bloomquist?
Beltre: Hey, I hit a homerun today.
Ibanez: Yeah, me too. You gonna mention us?
Corey: Did you get your uniform dirty? Do you scrap and hustle on every play, every at bat?
Willie: HEY, COREY, WHAT ARE YOU DOING? LITTLE WILLIE'S NOT GONNA POLISH HIMSELF!
Corey: Oh yeah. ::slurp slurp::
Beltre: That's disgusting.
Ibanez: I'd rather get traded back to Kansas City than watch this. C'mon, let's go get some hookers.
Willie: HOOKERS! THAT'S DISGUSTING AND IMMORAL!
Corey: ::gags::
Man, that's bad
What a strange thing for Brock to hone in on.

From USSM
Willie Ballgame has an Isolated Slugging% (SLG-BA) of .032, thanks to his whopping four extra base hits on the season. Among players with at least 100 plate appearances, WFB's .032 ISO ranks 374th out of 374, unsurprisingly. But how bad is an ISO of .032?
The average national league pitcher has an ISO of .043. Willie Bloomquist has hit for less power this year than the league average hitting pitcher. Yes, he does some things well enough (mainly, steal bases) to keep a roster spot in the major leagues, but the idea that he's any kind of major league player who deserves regular playing time is a joke.
