Are we in that bad of shape if we win today?
I don't think we are.  If we win and Texas wins, we are 4.5 out of first, 2 out of second and 1.5 out of third.  If we win and LAAAAAAA wins, we are 2.5 out of second and 1 out of third.

Not to mention we are playing a three game series against Tampa Bay, which is a great oppurtunity to gain some ground with Texas playing Oakland.  Then we go into a crucial stretch with four against TEX, 3 against OAK, then four against LAA.

So if we stick it out and win today, we still have a great shot at this thing.

It is a big "IF"..but if we do win, we are far from out of this thing.

Also if we are going to win 1 games of this series-game 3 is the one to win.  Maybe it would give the team some confidence.

mindset = = important
One's mindset has an incredible amount to do with actual tandem, results.  For example, one study showed people who wrote an essay on "what it would take to become a professor" before playing Trivial Pursuit scored significantly higher than the group who wrote an essay on something not so intellectual.    I have no idea what the M's state of mind would be though, if the Kansas City "Athletics" came to town, though.  Potentially interesting study, though!

That sounds like it could be the line of either. Down in Peoria, they only pitch guys 1 or 2 innings. They must have 50 pitchers down there that they are trying to work with.

As of a couple days ago, Jeff Harris is not one of them. Het pitched last night for Tacoma. Came in after B-Liv gave up back-to-back HRs in the 7th. Jeff got 2 backwards Ks sandwiched around a weak grounder to 2B.
