Now Pitching For Tacoma: Adam Jones

Man, I don't want to say that Adam Jones hit poorly during his stint with the Mariners, but the Tacoma Rainiers Roster now lists him as a pitcher. Until proven otherwise, I'm going to assume that's just a clerical error. It does make you wonder, though, doesn't it?

He was seen as both a SS and P in high school

Although I don't know why he'd change back now.

All good athletes and lefties are pitchers in high school ball. Doesn't surprise me that Jones was, too.

Also, shouldn't your signature end with "each other"?

That may be true

but in Jones' case, he was valued more highly by most scouts as a pitcher before he was drafted so he has legit talent in his arm. The M's were about the only organization that wanted to develop him as a hitter.

well he just went yard to lead off game 1

of Tacoma's second consecutive double header against Tuscon (man, that sucks!) so I think he's fine.

just had a meltdown of epic proportions. Top of the 4th, he gave up 3 HRs, 3 singles, and a walk resulting in 7 earned runs without an out. Fruto actually allowed the last to runs to score. At least 2 of Tucson's batters will hav ethe chance to hit two HRs in one inning!

Nageotte out for the year

Nageotte has arm problems again and has been shut down for the rest of the year (per Mike Curto), and Travis Blackley says his arm feels dead. Blackley has thrown a lot of innings this year coming back, so that is neither surprising nor alarming. Nageotte is another matter. Will he ever live up to even a fraction of his expectations?
