When you're as payroll heavy as the Sox, you pretty much ride your veterans and hope they hold up.  Mirabelli ITO was worth losing Bard if it meant Wakefield doing okay every 5 days compared to him suffering 4 passed balls a game.

It's karma payback for boon deals like Heathcliff for Lowe/Varitek.

Carlos is on my fantasy team
he's been having a real good year. He has been healthy and played in all but 3 games or something like that.

Not quite as good as his 2004 season, but still on pace for .300, 20HRs, 20 steals or something.

Yeah, it's better.
The resolution is the same as standard definition TV through mosaic. It's still not going to look as good as it does on a standard TV because of the higher resolution of your monitor.

I mentioned this to phildopip in the game thread
Gwynn experienced interleague play his last 4 years, as the fracnhise player of OUR BITTER INTERLEAGUE RIVALS THE SAN DIEGO DEADBEAT PADRES.  Therefore his omission of the future 2006 AL West Division Champion Seattle Mariners was an intentional act of spite against his hated interleague rivals.

Yeah, I listened to ESPN Radio for a few minutes
During the trade deadline. They were talking about how the Rangers were still in the mix, didn't really mention the M's. They said something like "I guess they're still hanging around". This was with the M's a half game behind the Rangers.

I don't really expect anything different. It's humorous anymore.

The media ignores the M's
In hopes that they don't have to do their homework on this team. That's my best guess.  If the M's drop out of it in August then no problem, they don't have to say anything.  If the M's become a serious threat in September the media is going to be scrambling to come up with something other than "Beltre and Sexson are starting to hit".
