So You Know

The 2006 Seattle Mariners have a losing record.

It's okay, I hate change.

Well,
Being over .500 was fun while it lasted though.

It was nice to have some optimism
after so much suffering the past 3 yrs.

I guess we can just wait another 3 yrs.

Or whatever.

Burn Hargrove.

Im thinking tonight is a do it yourself recap nigh
Jeff is going to be too pissed to bang something out. And rightly so. Today's game was an abomination.

So on the 4th of July I give you this. Patriotism. Baseball. Baseball better than the Mariners.

"America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It's been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt, and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game, is a part of our past, Ray. It reminds us of all that once was good, and it could be again. Ohhhhhhhh, people will come, Ray. People will most definitely come."

And another favorite

"Man that ball got outta here in a hurry. I mean anything travels that far oughta have a damn stewardess on it, don't you think? "

meteo...
being overused.

isn't good enough to pitch so frequently.

often comes into pressure situations and fails.

I had a feeling...
that July would be a very bad month.  How much longer can Bavasi stick with Hargrove without being taken down with the ship?  I have to admit, I have been very critical of Bavasi's moves thus far, but the truth is we could be leading the decision with the players we have if not for Hargrove.

I don't know what more we can do next to quit going to games.  Unfortunately, there are too many people that go for no apparent reason.  They are the ones that walk up and down the aisle 20+ times in the 6 innings they are there.

Weird...my rant went from Hargrove to pathetic fans in a matter if words.  I'm losing it.

Fire him now.

re: fans... It's an organizational problem
catering to casual fans who don't really care about the team.  FSN has segments on fans who come to score the game and don't really care whether the M's win or lose.  The M's do Stitch and Pitch night, and other promotions that bring in people who aren't there to root for the M's so much as have a place to go.

As for Bavasi sticking with Grover... it will get Bavasi fired, if he doesn't switch out Hargrove while the team still has a prayer.  As it stands, Grover's gone no matter what after this year, but Bavasi's fortune is still up in the air.  He's sealing his own fate by sticking with the dumbass manager.

SWUNG ON AND BELTED! DEEP TO... shortstop....

Singles Night
was a textbook example of that.
Jeremy Reed is the worst player to walk the face of the Earth.

You will always have those fans
If the Ms (or any baseball team) only catered to the hardcore fans that live and die with the team, then there would be even less people in the stands.  The promotions, etc., get annoying sometimes, but they have to fill the seats.  Some of the seats will be hardcore fans that actually want the team to win, others will be people that just want a place to drink and hang out with their friends.

agreed.
As annoying as it is to us who are really into the team and the game, many fans go to those games for different reasons. Hardcore fans only need baseball to show up, but something else has to draw the others.

Its frustrating at times, but the only way to defeat it is to have a winning team and be good ambassadors of a very great sport.
