Ricardo Ferrer
The Mariners signed this righty pitcher out of Venuezula today
http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2508432
He wasn't on ESPN's top 11 latin america prospects but he was listed in the "other prospects" area, the M's signed him for $290,000. I don't know anything about him but if anyone here spends considerable time in Venezuela and would like to fill me in they would certainly be welcome to do so.
300 Character fact of the Day: Ricardo Ferrer was a European actor during the 1960's and 70's and appeared in movies such as Touch Me Not, and Blue Jeans and Dynamite.

Thanks 300 Character Fact!
While I doubt I'll be able to find anything worthwhile, I'll report back if I do.

No joke, but in MVP 2005, I just drafted in the
The ultimate steriod freak!
Warrick Manning
Did he lead the league in HBP?
Is his middle name Sosa?
Sounds like
Nice
The list of elite players on ESPN and Baseball America have started to shrink, as clubs like the Yankees, BoSox, and Nationals have started to scoop up the best players.
Not suprisingly, many of the best players who are still available are Scott Boras clients. I could see them holding out for a while. But it would be nice to see the M's work out a deal for one of those guys. There is also a really good Australian SS that is unsigned. The M's are very active down there, so perhaps they will make a move.
It would be really nice to see the M's sign some of these guys. It would help maintain the M's spot as one of the really active teams in the international market.
My 3B prospect in OOTP?
