Fire Mike Hargrove. GO TWINS!!

by Goose on Jun 7, 2006 9:37 PM PDT up reply actions

Ah, thanks
Wasn't sure where you went.

by Gomez on Jun 7, 2006 9:37 PM PDT reply actions

Watch the last week's games
And you'd be strongly tempted to have hope for this team again.  Especially after tonight.

by Gomez on Jun 7, 2006 9:39 PM PDT up reply actions

If they take the next 3 or 4 series after this one
Then I may get a little excited about this team. For now I'm just banking on individual performances.
Fire Mike Hargrove. GO TWINS!!

by Goose on Jun 7, 2006 9:40 PM PDT up reply actions

Haven't you ever seen "Fever Pitch"?
That dumbass Fallon missed the greatest Red Sox comeback ever for a night with Drew Barrymore.

There's only one word for that: loser.

by JLC on Jun 7, 2006 9:41 PM PDT up reply actions

Took me awhile to get here
the links you posted in the other thread were no good.

by bluemax on Jun 7, 2006 9:38 PM PDT reply actions

Yeah.
I think I linked you to the admin-only "Edit Story" page.

Whatever.

by Jeff Sullivan on Jun 7, 2006 9:40 PM PDT up reply actions

Beltre
Had the ESPN web gem of the night with that barehanded play.  I didn't think I'd say it, but good job Beltre.  And you hit a home run, double good job.

by Ichiro for Pres on Jun 7, 2006 9:40 PM PDT reply actions

Beltre hit a homer?
Did I miss something?
YAY JOSE!

by WAB on Jun 7, 2006 9:42 PM PDT up reply actions

Sean Green has 4 Ks looking
he has some wicked movement on that sinker

by anky on Jun 7, 2006 9:42 PM PDT reply actions

The box score tells me
that Sean Green has been terrific.

by Jeff Sullivan on Jun 7, 2006 9:42 PM PDT reply actions

Yep...
And Ichiro got career hit # 2500.

Sexson looks like he's officially heading back to 2005 form.

And Joe Mauer still refuses to make outs.

by PLU Tim on Jun 7, 2006 9:44 PM PDT up reply actions

For a non-descript groundballer
He sure does a good job of fooling batters.

by Gomez on Jun 7, 2006 9:45 PM PDT up reply actions

To whoever suggested
a Morse/Snelling platoon for DH, that's not such a bad idea:

Morse, versus lefties career:
92 AB, .293/.369/.424

Small sample size of course, and that's still not terribly much power, but it's certainly better the everett. And of course, Snelling can just take over full time if Morse struggles.

by sactown257 on Jun 7, 2006 9:42 PM PDT reply actions

ME! YAY!
I supported C-Rex for a while...but he just plain sucks donkey balls and he needs to go, now.
YAY JOSE!

Rizzs talking like
striking out Graffanino, Mientkiewicz and Sanders in sequence is difficult.

by Jeff Sullivan on Jun 7, 2006 9:44 PM PDT reply actions

It was mentioned in the other thread
but it bears repeating that "Terry Tiffee" is a ridiculously stupid name.

by Jeff Sullivan on Jun 7, 2006 9:45 PM PDT reply actions

all right
if they load up the bases for mauer, then i'll be worried.

by sactown257 on Jun 7, 2006 9:45 PM PDT reply actions

That was kinda dumb
But the look on Torre's face was funny.
Fire Mike Hargrove. GO TWINS!!

by Goose on Jun 7, 2006 9:48 PM PDT up reply actions

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
Funniest shit ever.  My boss is a Bosox fan and he will LOVE seeing that in the morning.

by Gomez on Jun 7, 2006 9:49 PM PDT up reply actions

FUCK YOU LEW FORD
And here's Joe Mauer with the sacks jacked.  DAMMIT.

by Gomez on Jun 7, 2006 9:46 PM PDT reply actions

Mauer with the sacks juiced?
OH SHIT!
Fire Mike Hargrove. GO TWINS!!

by Goose on Jun 7, 2006 9:46 PM PDT reply actions

GET HIM, GS52
If George gets Joe Mauer, Hargrove owes him... well, something more than pulling him after one batter.

by Gomez on Jun 7, 2006 9:47 PM PDT reply actions

Yeah
Mauer only hits .365 against lefties

by Greybear on Jun 7, 2006 9:47 PM PDT reply actions

Pitcher that dominates lefties
Versus the hottest left handed hitter in the league.

This could be interesting.

by JLC on Jun 7, 2006 9:48 PM PDT reply actions

This is either gonna be really good
or really bad.
Fire Mike Hargrove. GO TWINS!!

by Goose on Jun 7, 2006 9:49 PM PDT reply actions

This can only end two ways.
Really, really good, or really, really, really bad.

by The Dude on Jun 7, 2006 9:49 PM PDT reply actions

Someone make sure...
this guy stays away from this game:

Please!

Free George Sherrill. And Dan Rohn.

y'know.....not posting here anymore.

by JLC on Jun 7, 2006 9:50 PM PDT up reply actions

Not buying it
Eddie is WAAAYYYY fatter than that

by manyoso on Jun 7, 2006 9:50 PM PDT up reply actions

Not gonna jinx him...
... any other Photoshop requests?

Where was that pitch?

Free George Sherrill. And Dan Rohn.

by PositivePaul on Jun 7, 2006 9:50 PM PDT reply actions

FUCK
THROW STRIKES, GEORGE.  YOU ARE LEFTY KRYPTONITE.

DAMMIT.

by Gomez on Jun 7, 2006 9:51 PM PDT reply actions

That was obvious...
There are unnatural forces preventing Joe Mauer from making outs right now.

by PLU Tim on Jun 7, 2006 9:51 PM PDT reply actions

Pujols
must've transferred his scary hitting powers to Joe Mauer after getting injured, for safekeeping.

by Gomez on Jun 7, 2006 9:53 PM PDT up reply actions

Sherrill came in for his one batter walk
And he's done for the series.

That really sucked, too.

by JLC on Jun 7, 2006 9:51 PM PDT reply actions

Joe Mauer<<<< George Sherrill
or Joe Mauer<<<<< almost everybody.
Fire Mike Hargrove. GO TWINS!!

by Goose on Jun 7, 2006 9:52 PM PDT reply actions

I suck
Leave me alone.
Fire Mike Hargrove. GO TWINS!!

by Goose on Jun 7, 2006 9:53 PM PDT up reply actions

Just think of the brackets as a mouth
opening towards the better player.  Mauer > Victor Martinez

Then you'll get it easy.

by Gomez on Jun 7, 2006 9:55 PM PDT up reply actions

Over/under
on Torii Hunter hitting 0.5 grand slams this at bat?

by Rollo Tomasi on Jun 7, 2006 9:52 PM PDT reply actions

Relax everyone
George was simply pitching smart.  Walking Mauer only means one run, but pitching to Mauer means 4 runs.

And besides...Torri Hunter vs. Raffy?  Puhhhlease.

YAY JOSE!

by WAB on Jun 7, 2006 9:52 PM PDT reply actions

Exactly.
A walk to Mauer in that situation, with a 5-run lead, when Mauer is tough, tough, tough vs. lefties, is totally fine.  Not "perfect" of course, but definitely not the worst thing that could've happened.

Not sure I would've wanted George in there, with Mauer's stats vs. lefties in the first place.  Of course, the M's really can't seem to get him out anyway, (can anyone?).  I'll take a bases-loaded walk in that situation darn near every time.

That pitch 0-2 pitch by Soriano was indeed outside.

Free George Sherrill. And Dan Rohn.

by PositivePaul on Jun 7, 2006 9:57 PM PDT up reply actions

i have a bad feeling about this
torii hunter's gonna hit a home run here. not that i want him to, i just feel it. We were feeling waaaay too good about the m's just a few minutes ago. We have to be brought down to earth.

'Tis true

by manyoso on Jun 7, 2006 9:54 PM PDT up reply actions

by WAB on Jun 7, 2006 9:58 PM PDT reply actions

Man, that sucks for Soriano
That 0-2 pitch was strike three, and he is a much better pitcher than that meatball indicates.

by Gomez on Jun 7, 2006 9:58 PM PDT reply actions

I blame Jeff.
You just had to stop eating dinner, didn't you?

by JLC on Jun 7, 2006 9:58 PM PDT reply actions

Thanks, Ump.
You're one fucking strike call too late, you tranny cocksucker.

by JLC on Jun 7, 2006 10:00 PM PDT reply actions

Yeah.
That pitch was worse than "Ball 1" to Cuddyer.

by BrettJMiller on Jun 7, 2006 10:01 PM PDT up reply actions

Bruce Dreckman
Needs to be fired as an umpire, then burned at the stake like in Silent Hill.  Fuckin' blind-ass umpire.

by BrettJMiller on Jun 7, 2006 10:00 PM PDT reply actions

Nope. Soriano's bad.
That 0-2 pitch was at least 2 inches outside.  It didn't even seem that close to me.

Not sure if the ump's been calling that all night, but it wasn't a strike according to normal strike zone rules...

Soriano's surrendered waaaay too many game-tying homers this year.  That makes me nervous.  I wanted a ground ball pitcher in there vs. Mauer and beyond...

Free George Sherrill. And Dan Rohn.

by PositivePaul on Jun 7, 2006 10:04 PM PDT up reply actions

FWIW
I agree.  It was flirting with the outside part of the plate, but it wasn't a clear strike.

by manyoso on Jun 7, 2006 10:06 PM PDT up reply actions

Good side
Surely, this will crush any of the enthusiasm that the team had built up during past week...meaning another 0-6 roadtrip is on the way.

You know what that means!

YAY JOSE!

by WAB on Jun 7, 2006 10:01 PM PDT reply actions

Rumors will circulate that Grover will get fired
Then we'll win one to go 1-6 in our last 7 and that's all Lincoln and Armstrong need to see to keep Grover in place?

by BrettJMiller on Jun 7, 2006 10:02 PM PDT up reply actions

we're out of the race?
I don't know, i guess it's getting kinda old. Why are fans openly rooting against the team just to get hargrove fired. I don't like him, but i'd much rather see the m's succeed.

by sactown257 on Jun 7, 2006 10:03 PM PDT up reply actions

Figures
against the Mariners, that the Twins would bring in a known roider to pitch.

by Gomez on Jun 7, 2006 10:02 PM PDT reply actions

We better win.
I don't think I could stand losing this game and then losing tomorrow against Santana.

Fuck. Don't we lead the majors in allowing grand slams or something?

by JLC on Jun 7, 2006 10:03 PM PDT reply actions

Um
How do you lose a shoe on a flyball collision?

Oh shit
I'm starting to dislike Michael Cuddyer.

by sactown257 on Jun 7, 2006 10:31 PM PDT reply actions

That first pitch to Cuddyer
would have been a great time for Hargrove to come rolling out of the dugout and get himself tossed.

Why should he?
There's no buffet out there.

Kenji
Should start shoving strip steaks in his pants.

Hey Ump
Try not calling a ball. Cool things might happen, you blind, fat douche fucker.

I was just thinking...
When someone takes a pic off of your site and posts it on another site, you can see it, right?

That means that the bald chick may be signing up for an annount as we speak.

I am still...
a non-spell checking douche bag.

I know! We can teach someone to hit against lefties by benching them every time we face them! -Mike Hargrove

This keeps going and we will be approaching
our record for most comments in one game. I think our previous was like 862 or something like that.

YAY JOSE!

by WAB on Jun 7, 2006 10:37 PM PDT reply actions

Hmmmm....
does anyone else want a petagine sighting here? Yeah, it would mean willie comes in afterwards, but it's a good shot at trying to win it here.
