Good luck.
The rest of us will have night terrors.

I'll be laughing
at your repeated usage of the word DIE.

by Gomez on May 8, 2006 9:13 PM PDT up reply actions

I'd have rather seen him coming in in the 9th...
...on Sunday. 3 run leads don't get blown that often in one IP.

One run leads in two IP, OTOH...

by eponymous coward on May 8, 2006 9:11 PM PDT up reply actions

Due up
lefty, GOMES, lefty.

He'll be fine except for that righty with 12 HR.  WALK HIM.

by Gomez on May 8, 2006 9:11 PM PDT up reply actions

Dang.
Whatever. Only thing I'm afraid of is an Eddie-Gomes matchup.

Although Pabolo Ozuna might have something to say about that.

If Guardado blows this
will he be hanged in effigy?

Does this mean instead of Willie we can give Lopez a little love, FSN? If any scrappy player lifted this team today, it was Lopez.

by jtopps on May 8, 2006 9:10 PM PDT reply actions

He's not scrappy.
The team criticized his attitude and approach just two months ago, after all.

by Jeff Sullivan on May 8, 2006 9:11 PM PDT up reply actions

FSN
will attribute the entire rally to Bloomquist, I promise you.

by Rollo Tomasi on May 8, 2006 9:14 PM PDT up reply actions

i know but still
The other day when Yuni manufactured a run completely by himself -- a hit, taking two bases on a bad pickoff throw and then some heads up base running to beat an infield grounder 5-3-2 -- and it was no big deal.

If Willie did that, the announcers would still be talking about it.

I love Willie's hustle, but let's give credit where credit is due.

by jtopps on May 8, 2006 9:18 PM PDT up reply actions

Eddie in
while he graps his soda off the ground to give him the needed sustanence to amble his way to the mound.

Prepare for rip your heart out game number...hmmm, which game number would this be? 4 or 5?

by Matthew on May 8, 2006 9:11 PM PDT reply actions

You know what?
Two of the three batters due up are lefties.  Eddie could have a good inning.

He'll have to walk Gomes, though.

by Gomez on May 8, 2006 9:12 PM PDT reply actions

did Carl say
bitch instead of bump in reference to the mound?

by Matthew on May 8, 2006 9:12 PM PDT reply actions

Don't look now
but Gil just had his best start of the season.

by Gomez on May 8, 2006 9:12 PM PDT reply actions

:puke:
wow. it's like watching 7 consecutive Eddie appearences.

by Matthew on May 8, 2006 9:13 PM PDT up reply actions

Okay.
Here comes the tragedy.

FLYOUT FOR GOMES
Eddie could have an easy 1-2-3 inning!

Too much air, thank god.

by Matthew on May 8, 2006 9:14 PM PDT reply actions

Funny thing
This is ironically the exact situation in which you want a relief ace pitching.

by Gomez on May 8, 2006 9:14 PM PDT reply actions

Eddie
clearly thought the ball was an apple fritter.

by Gomez on May 8, 2006 9:15 PM PDT reply actions

Guardado...
So hot right now.  Guardado.

by patsfan on May 8, 2006 9:15 PM PDT reply actions

Umm......yeah
that was surprisingly not painful. i still don't like eddie, though. Putz for closer!

by sactown257 on May 8, 2006 9:15 PM PDT reply actions

Now the question is:
Since Eddie had a good inning, does Hargrove leave him in to show he loves him, or get him out and let him bask in the glory of his success?

by kva15 on May 8, 2006 9:16 PM PDT reply actions

He'll pull Eddie
in favor of Putz, his non-closer closer.

by Jeff Sullivan on May 8, 2006 9:18 PM PDT up reply actions

Knowing our luck
Putz will get hammered by Norton or Toby Hall or something.

you're right
Its fun to rail on Willie, but he does play hard the way we want players to play. And when he does steal a base or happen to get the hit when we need it, we should be happy.

Its just hard when Rizzs and company go off like Willie saved Grandma Rizz from a burning building.

It would really help our confidence in the mariners because even if we win, it feels like we barely did.

Brilliant.
I was wondering what happpens when the movable object meets the resistable force.

Apparently it ends up being 6-3 in the 8th.

Of course, now we get to hear about the crucial aspect of baserunning for the next eleventy billion years from M's announcers.

And I still want a #&$^%(%)( extra base hit.

Eddie: and when there's a big wreck and cars are sliding all over, what do the dudes in the booth say?
