Cheap ticket possibilities

After Deanna of Marinerds mentioned the deal for 2 tickets for $22 on Tuesday games yesterday, I started thinking. For those of us that don't have season tickets or deep pockets but still want to see Felix pitch as often as possible, we should pool our cheap ticket acquisition knowledge.

I myself am a fan of picking up a centerfield bleacher ticket for $7 and then watching the game from the bullpen area.

What deals do you know about?

I think it's on Monday; I could be wrong
but there's a day when View Reserved seats are $10.

Also
I'll watch the game from various vantage points on the concourse during the game if I have a cheap ticket.  I'll also watch relievers warm up in the pen.

Scalped
The end of last year I would walk up and buy tickets outside.  Never had any trouble or bad tickets.  When I would get inside instead of sitting where ever the tickets were I would sit in the front row of the upperdeck behing Ichiro.  Only had a section monitor ask me once for my ticket and when I showed them to them they didn't really care anyway.  I blows my mind people will sit in the last row 10 sections over when the front row is open in right field but hey works for me.

$10
Ten bucks a ticket got you in.  That is all I ever looked for since I didn't care where they were.  Once the centerfield seats are sold that is the cheapest ticket.

Cheap Tickets
I just got out of school and am getting married this summer, so I don't have a ton of disposable income. However, baseball is my drug of choice and I go to about 30 games per season. So, I always have to go the cheap route. I always buy my tickets on the street and the only time I paid over face value was Father's Day last season when I took my dad to the ballgame. You can always find a pair of tickets (either good seats, or just-get-me-in seats) and will never pay over face value. I did get bum tickets one time, but I took them back to the scalper and he gave me my money back. They will do that because if they don't, they won't last long. However, it's always a lot better to buy tickets from someone who doesn't sell them for a living. Sometimes regular fans trying to sell tickets can be stubborn and think they can get face value, but most will give you a great deal because they're simply trying to get rid of some extra tickets. The past couple of years, I've given quite a few simple economics lessons on Occidental Ave. "Sir, I know you are trying to make your money back, but it's all about supply and demand. With the Mariners playing like they have been, the supply greatly outweighs the demand and if I wanted to pay full price, I'd go to the box office." Haha...

Another option is craigslist. If you check there the day of the game, sometimes people put up tickets for sale at the last minute and you can get some bargains.

I also:
-Park for free or take the bus
-Bring my own food (and sometimes an empty water bottle)

Hope that helps!

Craigslist is very good route
However the day of tickets you usually have to pick up, which adds gas to the equation.  It is all economics!

Wheeeee
So, the ones I know of:

Mondays - $10 in View Reserved
Tuesday - 2 for $22 in View Reserved
Most Wednesdays - Grand Slam Family Pack - Four tickets, four hot dogs, four soft drinks, for either $50 in View Reserved, $100 in Field Box, or $125 in Terrace Club Outfield.

If there are a lot of us who want to go to games but need a second person or a group of four for them, maybe we could start a thread for that.  I'm almost always up for going to a game if I don't have anything better to do for the evening, though you have to put up with me frantically scribbling in a scorecard and spouting random baseball trivia.
