Putz or Soriano....

So I have one extra bench spot right now(or will once I drop a player) and can't decide who to pick up.

My M's fan in me says Soriano in a heartbeat.  The fantasy me says Putz has the much better 19/2 k's/bb and is doing a lot better now with his splitter?

I'm figuring eddie gets the closer spot for another month, then if he is still sucking gets dumped.  I don't see the m's making the boston move and ditching the proven closer so quick since I believe bavasi wants to be able to trade him come june/july.

So who would everybody pick up.  I'm leaning towards Soriano, but I'm not 100% sure he will become the closer.  I might just pick them both up if I can swing a 2 for 1 for Felix.

Putz
He certainly has the inside track, and that's all that matters.

As good as Putz is doing....
Soriano is the man, has proven he can sustain this type of success for a season (see 2003), and has just about the best stuff/control out of any reliever in the AL not named mariano

I grabbed
Both.  But my league isn't terribly deep, so I can pick up an acceptable replacement in a few weeks after this situation shakes out.

I think it depends on whether Hargrove or Bavasi gets to make the call.  Probably Hargrove, and probably Putz.

Putz
Soriano is needed more, and is a better performer than Putz, in the crucial 6th, 7th and 8th innings.  Let Putz destroy opposing teams' hopes with an easy 9th.  When he has nobody on base, he is practically unhittable.

I'd say either is a fine, fine choice
Putz got snapped up just as I was deciding who to drop to take him.  So I took Soriano instead.  I'm not unhappy with the decision.  Felix got me 18 K's all by himself last week... it's not like I need any other pitchers :)

I have Soriano in my league
and I couldn't be happier. The guy is destroying opposing hitters.
Don't bother me, I'm hustling.
