Meche out indefinitely

Just saw a blurb on ESPN saying Meche is out indefinitely with a strained oblique.  If true (I can't find a link to a report) it seems like Foppert has the opening he was looking for.

A blessing in disguise?

Indefinitely
Could be a week, could be ten years.

A strained oblique... Player A had one of those last year, and he never recovered.

Oh wait... my mistake.  He recovered from that.  It was SUCKING SO BAD that he never recovered from.

Maybe the strained oblique is a common injury among crappy major leaguers.

Sounds like good news
Gil Meche played catch, moving out to a distance of 120 feet and throwing without discomfort. If there’s still no soreness in the area of his left oblique, Meche will throw again today, try a bullpen session Friday and start against the Los Angeles Angels on Monday. “I felt absolutely fine,” Meche said. “It was a relief.”
