Another minor move...

No pun intended. Jesse Foppert was moved to AAA Tacoma today (Sunday) by the M's. It hasn't come out anywhere that I have seen yet, well, wait, here is confirmation:

After yesterday, who would have doubted that this would have happened. He didn't have his A or B game yesterday, at all.

Not really a big setback for Foppert...

Foppert would have had to be lights out and then some to crack the rotation. As it is, he probably has some things he can learn/iron out in Tacoma for the time being. His goal now ought to be to pitch himself ahead of Harris, Nageotte, etc. for first in line to get called up when someone in the rotation gets injured.

I just realized

that with Nellie and Shiggy gone, that there's going to be two new faces in our bullpen this April. Shows you how much I've been paying attention.

With everyone in the pen pitching so badly, I wonder how they'll fill out that bullpen. Let's look at who there is in the pen so far: Guardado, Sherrill (struggles aside, I think Grover will keep him on the club), Soriano, Putz, Mateo... then there's two spots that aren't locked down, though Nags has looked decent, so let's say he gets one. Notice how a) Hargrove mentioned having a veteran to work long relief and b) while Vina and Burba were let go... Kevin Appier was not. Hmmm.

Unless of course, Hargrove wants that 2nd lefty in the pen and goes with Jake Woods, struggles aside.

I think you are right

I wouldnt be surprised to see Appier in that last bullpen spot. He sucks, but it may be better in the long run for the young guys to start in Tacoma anyway.
