Uh.
Damn. How many starters do the Cubs need?

Wild.

Same here, but to be honest
It's not as if we have things a whole lot better ;-)

Was
generally pointing out that despite all the franchise-fuxx0ring that the Cubbies have been engaged in recently, the pessimist in me can't see the Ms experiencing World Series success before Chicago.

As for the Ashes, what a disaster...

At least the Cubs will get his landmark
200th win, according to the article. (194 - 137 career record)

That's nice for them
Seeing as the franchise won't be getting its own landmark win any time soon...another 100 years time perhaps?

Apparently
GS and G are the same as W/L.
Willie Bloomquist and Mike Hargrove suck. Horacio Ramirez doesn't suck but is way worse than Soriano.

eh
Marquis at least has potential as a pitching coach's reclamation project.  He spent the last few years in a negative environment -- I remember hearing he was barely on speaking terms with his pitching coach.

With a new coach and a new attitude I think Marquis could be a serviceable BOR starter, as his arm didn't just disappear like Pineiro's.

Of course it was probably for $9M per knowing this market.  Screw what I just said, the money definitely hosed it.

Making Things Easy
Gil Meche and Jason Marquis, your 2007 HACKING MASS starting pitchers.

Oh my lord
Marquis is trashier than trash.  Jim Hendry must have shit the last of his brains out while in the hospital.

Quick
Trade Pineiro to the Reds! You might get Adam Dunn!

I like Jason Marquis
because at least in 2005, watching him hit was pretty awesome.

Yeah
I was just going to say, maybe they did this deal thinking they had a rich man's Brooks Kieshnick.

This makes...
the Gil Meche deal look good. Okay, not GOOD, but this another new low for the Cubs.
