Quote Harris:
Sounds like he's all rested-up and refreshed. Working in his favor is that (A) Chicago doesn't have a good offense, and (B) it's worse against righties. Jon Garland, on the flip side, has been one of the luckiest pitchers in baseball this year, generating a low ERA despite striking out just 4.26 batters per nine. His .266 BABIP has fooled casual observers into thinking that he's become an ace, even though his defense-independent ERA is 4.21, ranking 23rd out of 52 qualified AL starters. Today would be a good time to remind him that he's still Jon Garland.
LET'S GO MARINERS!
