Also cleared waivers and returned to St. Louis.
Did one of the St. Louis mafia guys have threats out to the other teams' GMs? I would've taken a flier on him...

He made it very clear a couple of weeks ago that after the Cardinals released him, he would retire if any other team claimed him and wanted him to pitch again. Since no one thinks the Rick Ankiel outfield experiment is going to work, no one took that chance.
