Snelling

I think a lot of people are overlooking the impact Snelling could have this year.  The key word is could I know, as he is very likely to be injured, but him coming of the bench as a left handed bat with power and decent defense for as much as I've heard.  If he can put together a healthy season I think he could be something that could push us over the top.

Impact
As much as I like Snelling, there's no way he'll be an impact player this year. His injuries have slowed him down, which cuts back on defense, and he was never projected to hit much more than 20 homers when he was at full healthiness. I'd say that at best, right now Snelling is pretty much a wash with Ibanez.

But cheaper.

snelling
When you look at his PECOTA projections his line looks like:  .292/.352/.463, with limited at bats, but thats still a pretty impressive line for a 23 year old.  If he can stay healthy, I seriously think he is a dark horse that can surprise a lot of people.  I seriously think he should be considered for some playing time, if Winn could be moved, you could have him and Ibanez in left, with Ibanez also splitting time at DH with Bucky, that would give both Bucky and Snelling less pressure to completely come back from injury and allow them to adjust to a year at the Major level.  Just a thought anyway, wishful thinking.

Snelling
I agree with gumbostu.  Snelling could be a nice surprise for the M's.  Although he has had injury problems, he is supposed to be coming in healthy.  It is just a matter of how much rust he has.  But he could be a nice bat off the bench as well as a potential DH.  I think that he could put up similar numbers as Ibanez.

It will be interesting to see what the M's might do if Snelling is impressive in spring training.  That might make one of our more expensive OFers (Winn or Ibanez) more expendable.

We'll have to wait and see...
KOMO's reporting knee surgery (http://komotv.com/stories/35486.htm), to repair torn cartilage.  Maybe he shouldn't've had that walkabout after all...
