Chiba Lotte Marines vs White Sox......

Considering I DID follow the Japan Series (even moreso than I did the World Series), I have no doubt in my mind that it would be a set of awesome games.  The Marines had breakout seasons from some great young guys this year and had some stellar performances from the older guys.  They were 11-2 in the postseason, and actually would have swept the postseason if closer Masahide Kobayashi hadn't imploded in PL Second Stage Game 3 and let the Hawks come back from a 4-0 deficit in the 9th to win 5-4 in the 10th.  I'm still kicking myself for going to sleep in the 7th :)

Infact, my only problem with such a series would have to be deciding which third baseman I like more -- Joe Crede or Toshiaki Imae.  They were both fantastic in the field and at the bat all through the postseason.

The teams were really pretty similar this year in that there was a lot of talent spread out through the lineup, it wasn't like they had to depend on one or two big hitters.  They both had a great pitching staff and superb defense all around the field, and inspirational managers who could really get a lot out of their players.  

It would be a really awesome series.  Shame it won't happen, but still.
